Workshops

I love running my workshops! I've been holding them for about ten years from my home in ‘Studio 9’. These classes are a chance to be guided to create in a fun environment with friends and like minded people. I live in Willoughby, in a beautiful sandstone cottage that is 130 years old. Studio 9 is in the front ‘good room’ and chock a block full of inspiring collected objects and vessels. The classes offer learning of skills and tips, a time to engage in working with your hands and being creative, it’s fun, mindful and very nurturing. I’ve been an art educator in Visual Arts for thirty years and love sharing my knowledge and techniques. I feel so inspired from a workshop, always learning more for my own art making practice. The classes are limited to only 5 attendees, in an intimate and nurturing space.

Workshops are run mid week as a half day for $80 or a full day for $140. All materials are provided. We start with a freshly baked cake and cuppa tea. We then explore drawing and a few different painting techniques to create cards & tags to take home plus a minor artwork. the idea is to slow down and enjoy the process. The full day workshops offer more time to delve deeper and complete an acrylic canvas painting. We run with a different genres to inspire us, like pears or maybe an abstract landscape. The workshops are totally suitable for all levels of experience. People are often amazed and proud at what they’re taking home, created with their own hands. The day absolutely flies by and people feel creatively nourished.
